Three Peaks Challenge for Men’s Mental Health Charity: Sean’s Place

On June 20th, the Connections2energy team will take on one of the UK’s most demanding physical challenges – climbing the three highest mountains in Britain within just 24 hours, raising money for Sean’s Place. This journey means more to us than just physical endurance, it represents our commitment to addressing a crisis that affects countless men in our industry and beyond.

Why We’re Climbing

Behind every statistic is someone’s brother, father, colleague, or friend:

– 87% of UK construction workers experience anxiety

– 70% of UK construction workers suffer from depression

– 97% of UK construction workers deal with stress

– 26% of UK construction workers have had suicidal thoughts

In the construction industry, where we operate these numbers aren’t just statistics, they are our colleagues, our family, and our friends.

Sean’s Place – A Lifeline When It’s Needed Most

We have formed a close partnership with Sean’s Place, a remarkable charity providing immediate, free mental health support for men in a non-clinical, non-judgmental environment. Over the years, we’ve proudly raised over £4,000 for them, witnessing firsthand the impact of their practical, proactive programs that help men before they reach crisis point.

Sean’s Place exists because of Sean, who died by suicide after struggling with his mental health. His family created this centre to ensure other men would have a place to turn when they feel they have nowhere else to go. Our continued partnership with Sean’s Place reflects our deep commitment to their mission and the vital services they provide their community.

The Challenge Before Us

We will scale:

Ben Nevis – Friday 20th June at 5 pm

Scafell Pike – Saturday 21st June at 4 am

Snowdon – Saturday 21st June at 1 pm

The Team: Ian Creamer, Courtney Prestage, Marc Davies, Andrea Naylor, Paula Watson, Aleanza Bleasdale, Charlotte Eves, Eli Riley, Maddy Doherty and Beverley Dobson.

Additionally, some of our other colleagues, members of Sean’s Place, along with family and friends, will join us for the final stretch up Snowdon, lending their support as we near the final summit.

The mountains we’re climbing will be tough, but they pale in comparison to the battles many men fight alone.
